Harris County Universal Services successfully finished the end-to-end migration of all voter registration and election management systems for the Harris County Office of the Elections Administrator on Aug. 18.
The completion of the database move in mid-August was the 18th and final milestone in the series of migrations. The migrations carefully transitioned all hardware, software and application support from the Harris County Tax Office and Harris County Clerk's Office to HCUS on behalf of the Elections Administrator office.
According to Christina Linderholm, Program Manager in the HCUS Program Delivery & Analytics division, the team began migrating more than 20 applications, including the related hardware, databases and interfaces, into the HCUS Data Center in January; now all the moves are complete.
"Team members from the Tax Office, County Clerk, Elections Administrator and Universal Services have all worked together to ensure nothing was lost during the migration," Linderholm said. “We can’t thank all the involved individuals enough for their hard work, diligence and team work to make this happen. We successfully accomplished the transition together.”
