The Harris County Innovation Laboratory is the proponent for accelerated innovation at the County.

Accelerate the discovery, implementation, and transition of new and novel technology applications, policy models, sustainability solutions and business solutions models from diverse sources throughout the globe that will enhance Harris County resident services.

Our marching orders are to always be open to ideas. Establishing an office of innovation is a crucial step towards fostering creativity, efficiency, and increasing capability. This initiative aims to harness novel ideas, cutting-edge technologies, and collaborative approaches to address business issues, enhance public service, and drive forward-thinking process and policy.

By cultivating a culture of innovation, we seek to proactively meet the needs of our citizens, embrace change, and spearhead impactful transformation. Our strategy revolves around creating cohorts to enable collaboration, accelerate idea development, and rapid prototyping, helping set a roadmap for the enhancement and innovation of services offered to our departments and the 4m+ residents we serve.
